The Hebrew Bible Series is the spiritual foundation of Amnon Moalem’s life’s work. Drawing from the most defining narratives of the Torah and Prophets — Abraham’s encounter with the divine, the binding of Isaac, David’s confrontation with Goliath, Jacob wrestling with the angel, Rachel weeping for her children — the series translates these ancient, universal stories into commanding physical form. The works in this series stand at the intersection of religious heritage and fine art. Some engage directly with the tradition of the Old Masters: Rembrandt’s intimate portrayal of Abraham welcoming the three strangers; Gustave Doré’s dramatic engraving of Balaam’s encounter; his iconic rendering of Jacob in the night-long struggle. Amnon honors these predecessors while claiming the compositions as his own — carved, cast, and gilded at a scale that makes them unmistakably monumental. The series was developed primarily between 2016 and 2026. Each work is an original, signed piece. Works are available for private collection, institutional acquisition, and placement in houses of worship.
