Accessibility Statement

This website presents work made to be stood in front of. We would like as many people as possible to be able to approach it here as well, and we treat accessibility as part of building the site rather than as something added at the end.

The standard we work to

The site is built towards the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA, which is the standard referenced by Israeli Standard 5568 and by accessibility regulations in Europe and the United States.

What has been done

  • The pages are built with meaningful headings and landmarks, so a screen reader can move through them in a sensible order.
  • Menus, buttons, links and form fields can be reached and operated with a keyboard alone, and the element in focus is visible.
  • Text and background colours were chosen to hold their contrast, including the gold and cream lettering on deep burgundy.
  • Form fields carry labels, and errors are described in words rather than by colour alone.
  • Images of the works carry text alternatives describing what is shown.
  • The site’s movement, the drawn frames, the light across the lettering, the writing of text, is switched off automatically for anyone whose device is set to reduce motion.
  • Layouts reflow for small screens and remain usable when text is enlarged in the browser.

Where the site still falls short

We would rather name the gaps than claim there are none:

  • Video shown on the site is delivered by an external service whose player we do not control, and its controls may not meet the standard in full.
  • Some documents and images supplied for the catalogue may not yet carry complete text alternatives while the catalogue is being verified with the artist.
  • Pages are reviewed as they are published; anything added recently may not yet have been tested.

These are being worked through, and this statement will be updated as they are resolved.
